Feliz Navida from Puerto Vallarta

Christmas break is always a time for relaxation, travel, and adventure. This year, my Christmas break was all that and more because I was able to spend a week in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful town tucked away in a bay on the Pacific side of Mexico. While there, you can relax on the beach, go on adventurous excursions such as whale watching, hiking in the jungle, and finding hidden waterfalls, or simply break away from the tourism and get a real taste of Mexican culture.

A few of the highlights of my trip were taking a boat along the coast and admiring the tropical coves, jumping into a freezing cold waterfall, visiting Yelapa, a small fishing village, and spending time with my family.

Average street in Yelapa, Mexico: too small for cars.
