Biking and Birding with Frances’s dad

In twist on “take your parent to school day”, one Cotter parent  shared his expertise about local birds with his daughter’s class.

On Wednesday,  April 25,  Ms.  Halvorson’s Environmental Science class went biking with Steve Young, the father of Cotter senior Frances Young.

The goal of the outing was to do some bird watching by using handheld binoculars in Hunters Lake.

Unfortunately, Seniors could not go to there, because they had a baccalaureate mass in Mankato.

“I really enjoyed the field trip and I learned a lot. Mr. Young was professional on bird watching, he explained many interesting facts about bird through binoculars, such as Canada goose, hummingbirds” — Angela Zhen
