Belarus is in Europe, and is sandwiched between Poland and Russia. Once a satellite state of the USSR and a province of the Tsardom of Russia, Belarus, has its own unique culture that shares a common language with Russia.
Illya has two siblings; a sister (22) who resides in London, England, and a brother (10) who studies in Vienna, Austria.
Illya loves being with his family, but loves being independent more. Like his brother, Illya, moved to Vienna, Austria at the age of 12. Illya moved to the states 3 years ago, he studied at Iowa Christian school before coming to Cotter. Illya loves learning and especially enjoys learning English.
Illya appreciates the Cotter education and doesn’t take it for granted. Illya has adjusted well to dorm living but would like to immerse himself into the American culture by going to movies and hanging out with friends.
In Illya’s freetime he enjoys watching and playing ice hockey. One can describe Illya as a thrill seeker who loves to feel a good adrenaline rush. Illya hopes to stay in the US after Cotter and would like to attend an American University.
