Its Gotta Be The Shoes

Its Gotta Be The Shoes

Want to be like Mike?  It will cost you.

Did you stumble upon a pot of gold, find a sack of cash lying in a gutter, or just inherit a boatload of money? If so, you have the rare opportunity to own Michael Jordan’s game worn Nike shoes from 1984.

A former Los Angeles Lakers ballboy is putting the shoes up for auction. In 2013, Jordan’s shoes from the famous “flu game” sold for $104,765. After a similar pair from the same year sold for over $30,000, the market for these pre-Air Jordan sneakers is ripe.

As the years go by, the legend of Michael “Air” Jordan grows. If you think these shoes are expensive, check back in ten years when the price goes up substantially. Tennis shoes for today’s young and rich are like fine art for previous generations and the market has exploded. Bidders will pay top dollar for a piece of the past, especially if that past involves arguably the best player of all time.

The auction opens on April 8 and runs through April 25.

Better get your hands on a pair of Lebron’s shoes before he retires, it’ll be worth the investment.
