After time away from the game, Cotter Highschool’s Keagan Glynn makes a return after taking a 2 year step back from football. Bringing energy, work ethic, and determination to the team.
After this break Keagan has made his return and is quickly making an impact amongst the team and school. Keagan admitted that he originally left the sport because of his nerves and not being interested. “I thought it was really boring and I didn’t like playing the line. I was also scared of high school football because it seemed super strict and rough.” he said. This year, encouragement from his friends and coaches pushed him to give it another shot. “My friends and the coaches encouraged me to play,” he stated. So far, he’s glad he came back. “Yeah, I’m enjoying it of course.” and even expressing his prefernces “I like the practices where we scrimmage the most.” Adjusting to football again wasn’t easy at first. “A little challenging at first, but after the first week I was ready to go,” Keagan said. He knows tougher challenges are coming. “Our first two opponents weren’t that hard, but once the skill level raises a bit it will definitely get harder.”
Teammate Cade Cummings praised Keagan’s return. “I think Keagan far exceeded what I expected from him,” Cade said. “I didn’t think he was going to come back at all, as over the summer he showed no interest in rejoining the program.”
Matthias O’Brien also expressed excitement about Keagan’s comeback. “I am very happy for Keagan to come back to football as I think it is a great fitting sport for him,” O’Brien said. “I think he has been a great strong support for Cotter since he has joined back.”
With his confidence growing and support from teammates and coaches, Keagan’s return is shaping up to be a major boost for the team this season.
