Notable muscial performances are often rewarded with flowers, and  this year’s seniors definitely earned the bouquets they received after their show.

The top five scorers from the Solo & Ensemble performances for both band and choir showed their talents on the Saint Cecilia theater on Wednesday, May 2, 2018.

The performers included  Cecilia Welch, Samuel Graff, Nathan Graff, Sam He, Ben Matzke, Anna Engel, Quintus Wang Christian Renk, and Ben Herber.

The program for the event went as follows:

Sam He, a bass,  sang “Love leads To Battle” by G. B. Buononcini.

Ben Herber, did a marimba solo, playing “Concerto in A Minor” by Antonio Vivaldi.

Anna Engel, a mezzo-soprano, sang “O del mio dolce ardor” by Christoph Willibald von Gluck.

Samuel Graff, performed a euphonium solo, palying “Sonata no.3 in A minor” by Benedetto Marcello.

Cristian Renk, a tenor, sang “Gia il sole dal Gange” by Alessandro Scarlatti.

Quintus Wang, performed on the alto saxophone playing “Pequena Czardas” by Pedro Itturalde.

Ben Matzke, a tenor, sang “Spirate, Pur Spirate” by Stefano Donaudy

Cecelia Welch, performed on the mirimba,  playing “Masquerade for Marimba” by William Schinstine.

Anna Engel, a mezzo soprano and Christina Renk, a tenor,  sang a duet, “When I Am Silent” by Joan C. Varner

Nathan Graff, closed the show with a piece on the trombone, playing “Concerto for Trombone” by Launy Grondahl.
