Rambler Rally Rocks The Parking Lot

Making his first big splash as Cotter’s new Activities Director, Travis Whipple put a new spin on the classic pep fest by moving it to the parking lot, giving it a new name, and generating much more excitement.

The inaugural “Rambler Rally” was held on a beautiful Wednesday night,  August 27,  from 5:00-7:00 in the John Nett parking lot. The lot was filled with a  variety of booths set up to highlight the various sports teams and activities Cotter has to offer.  Many young Ramblers got their chance to test their arm at the dunk tank and enjoy the bounce house.

“We wanted to kick-off the year with a fun evening of music, free food, games and giveaways,” said Whipple. An estimated 600 people attended the event, and Whipple couldn’t be more thrilled with the turnout. “It was awesome to see families throughout Cotter as well as WACS attending the event and celebrating our students, coaches and staff in anticipation of another exciting year of Rambler Activities.”

The evening started at 4:30pm, and with the large crowd Cotter wanted to thank its generous benefactors by taking a photo of the Cotter athletic and activities community in a large “C” formation. “A spirit of community is one thing that makes Cotter so special,” said Alumni Director Judy Richter.

Following the photo was a generous pulled pork dinner catered by Timbers Restaurant. Then the night took off as the dunk tank, bounce house, and other activities were in full swing. Whipple had this to say about the reason for the change of pepfest format: “The purpose was to generate excitement surrounding all of our activities, teams and clubs while creating a sense of community. Overall, we want to create a model program of excellence that our campus, alumni and community will take pride in.”

When being asked if we can expect this again in the future, Whipple replied, “We plan to make this a tradition! Stay tuned for exciting enhancements!”
