Cotter drops Caledonia in rubber match to advance

After splitting in the regular season, Cotter girl’s basketball beat Caledonia in an exciting section playoff game.

The final score of the game, held at Cotter on Saturday, March 20, was 57-41.

Although the final score was not close, the game was tied at the half, making for a very engaged crowd. Making the game even more interesting was that Cotter split—1 win and 1 loss—with Caledonia this season, with each team winning on their home court. The first time the teams met, Caledonia won 60-52 but the second time, Cotter won 71-44.

The Cotter student section, which has been noticeably absent this season due to Covid, drastically changed the environment of Saturday’s game.

Top scorers for Cotter include Sophia Sandcork with 19 points, Olivia Gardner with 12 points, and Megan Morgan with 11 points. The girls play Lake City at Mayo High School on Tuesday, March 23.
