Cotter’s Open Dorm, which was hosted this year on September 18, was, despite a poor turnout, a major success. With free ice cream available in the first floor lounge, and toppings, such as cookie crumbles, M&M Candies, chocolate syrup and an overabundance of whipped available on the higher floors, there was definitely incentive to view each floor and their rooms.

Almost every dormitory room was open and available for viewing, whether clean or not, and while not allowed inside, was still a very unique perspective into the lives of the students. Some students won gift cards for the most interesting or tidiest rooms, such as the fourth floor’s Hyeong-min “Sam” Kweon. Also, the floor with the highest quantity of viewable rooms won a pizza party, courtesy of the Resident Assistants. Although the turnout wasn’t spectacular, with only a handful of local students, teachers, parents, and dorm students in it for the free ice cream attending, it was indeed fun. According to one dorm student, “The Open Dorm was awesome! We had so much left over whipped cream that we sprayed it in people’s faces!”
