Off to the races

The boys cross country is off to the races heading into the second half of  their season.

The team has participated in five meets at Stewartville, La Crescent, Mayo, the Jim Flim meet in Winona, and Zumbrota, with many runners having the best time at the Zumbrota meet.

” The season is going well” junior Garet Grant said. Grant is the top  runners on this year’s team.

“My favorite part of cross country is Friday morning practice. It is cool and dark out and a nice time to kick off your day.” He also likes the chance to run on some fun trails around Winona.

Senor co-captain Tim Welch also say’s the season is going well as far as effort from everyone on the team.

“Cross country is special  because the sport allows you to work as a team to win while also working on personal goals.,” Welch said.  Tim’s favorite part of cross country is the spaghetti dinners because they get to converse with each other and grow as a team.

The team competes and Plainview on October 11, and will host the Three Rivers conference meet at St. Mary’s University on October 18, before traveling to Rochester for the Section 1A meet on October 27.
