The girls varsity soccer team is off to a competitive start.

They are currently 4-2 with losses  to Lourdes and Stewartville and victories over Schaefer, St. Charles and Lake City twice.

Their returning coach, Marie Barientos, lost five seniors last year, three of whom were starters. The team is returning with five new seniors ready to lead the team to greater results.

Some of their key games this season will be against Dover and LaCresent.

“A big goal of ours is to beat La Cresent this year who is one of our biggest rivals,” said senior Adamary Rosas.

“Besides a big win over a rival, a trip to state would be an amazing way to end our senior year,” said by captain, Paige Peplinski.
