Early November 2025 a change to Cotter morning scheduling was proposed that if enacted would upend many high school student’s morning schedules. The change would move the ST. Joseph opening to students form 8:00 am to 8:15 am. While this seemingly insignificant period of 15 minutes is easy to overlook, most students would argue that they arrive at cotter during this time more often than not. This time is valuable, and it is important that students have access to study spaces during this time, rather than a crowded noisy lunchroom. Ash, who’s signature appeared on the petition against the updated opening hours says “students simply need time to focus in the morning”. Fortunately for the students, the petition was successful, and the ST. Joseph building will remain open to students at the normal time for the rest of the year.
