Math team returns to State

The Cotter Math Team placed 6th (tied for 5th, but lost tie-breaker) out of 10 Section A (“small”) schools at the State Tournament on March 13, in St. Paul.

They were profiled in a recent article in the Winona Post.

The Cotter Math Team finished out their regular season on Feb 13 at Rochester Lourdes. Daisy Liao and Joseph Row were recognized for their top-10 individual performance in the Hiawatha Division. Cotter’s performance over the 5-meet regular season secured the Section 1A championship and a trip to the State Math Meet in St. Paul on Mar 13. At the State Tournament, Cotter placed 6th (tied for 5th, but lost the tie-breaker) out of 10 Section A (“small”) schools.

The Cotter Math Team is: Peyton Gish (co-captain), Joseph Row (co-captain), Audrey England, Hazel Freyre, Eric Geng, Daisy Liao, Sonja Semling, and Jack Spiten.   The team is coached by Eric Errthum.
