Sometimes it takes a long time to receive recognition, but maybe that makes the reward sweeter.

Calli Marg, a senior at Cotter High School, is a member of Wilson Fireflies 4-H Club. She is the daughter of Leonard and Nancy Marg and was recognized as the Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona 4-H Youth representative for the Month of April.

Starting as a Cloverbud, her involvement has stretched over 13 years, including photography, food preservation, fine arts, crafts, fruit, flower gardening, dog, goats, rabbits and poultry.

She has been the vice president of Wilson Fireflies 4-H Club for two years and a leader in her mentorship of other 4-H youth interested in project areas.

“It’s really great that a 4-H’er is recognized each month to have some of their accomplishments recognized.  I like that 4-H is a club activity but also a very individual thing when it comes to projects. It has allowed me to grow socially as well as individually as a person. There are leadership, travel, service, and fun opportunities in 4-H. I encourage everyone to try 4-H. It’s never too late!”, said Marg.
