Cotter has another club to add to its slowly growing list this year. Headed up by Sra. Atkinson, the Spanish Club is a place to relax, socialize, and celebrate the fun side of Spanish.

The atmosphere in Spanish Club is very relaxed. “It’s usually about 10 to 15 minutes, and then we do some kind of activity,” Atkinson said. Membership and attendance are similarly relaxed. “It’s not a thing with members, anyone can show up.”

Every meeting has a different focus and activity. “I normally have students come in and do a lesson/something interactive in Spanish with me leading and then they create something.”

During the February 16 meeting, students tried different Spanish cookies, and then compared favorites and least favorites in Spanish.

If you’re interested in Spanish, or just interested in a fun, social environment, Spanish Club meets in Sra. Atkinson’s room every Wednesday at both 8:15 in the morning and 3:20 in the afternoon.
