P-EM tops Cotter for third time

Once again the Cotter boys basketball team gave the heavily favored Plainviw-Elgin Milliville Bulldogs all they could handle, but, once again, the Ramblers came up just short.

On Saturday’s, February 22, Cotter  battled it out with Plainview-Elgin-Millville fin a quarterfinal sub-sectional  game.

The boys started off slowly the first half,  and were down1-29 at halftime.

They started to pick up momentum second half with a comeback, drawing within two in the last minute, but P-EM star Nick Shanks hit two free throws to end the rally and give the Bulldogs a 79-75 victory.

Caleb Forst led the team with 21 points, 15 of those points coming from five 3 pointers, and Garrett Crowley had 18.

After having the game delayed twice due to weather conditions, the Ramblers showed their mettle in the face of a fired up P-EM student section.

The loss marked the final game for seniors Garrett Crowley, Caleb Forst, and Matthew Schrupp.
