Cotter’s Jonah Spiten (24) sees the court as a Caledonia defender applies defense

The Cotter boys basketball team was down 16-14 to state runner-up Caledonia with 8 minutes to play in the first half.

After switching up their full court press, the Warriors (2-0, 2-0) proved why they are ranked #5 in Class AA.

Caledonia ran away with it, taking a 22-point lead at half and the victory 77-43. Senior guard Colton Lampert led all scorers with 19 points, including 4/5 beyond the arc. Eighth grader Noah King, brother of District 1AA football MVP Owen King, also had 11 points. The Warriors had 6 scorers in double figures.

Senior forward Hunter Andre had 11 points and 4 blocks for the Ramblers (0-2, 0-3). Senior guard Logan De Vorak also added 10 points and 2 steals. Jonah Spiten contributed with 9 points.

Cotter’s 5-game road trip comes to a close this week as they travel to Glenville-Emmons on Friday and Onalaska to play Luther on Saturday at 2:00 PM.
